You’re probably familiar with the experience of going to a great training, leaving invigorated with your new knowledge, and then what? It can be hard to incorporate new learnings into practice for a range of reasons. This month on the podcast, join a panel of practitioners at different points of their careers as they reflect together on what they have found helpful, and not so helpful, about taking their learnings into their practice.

Unsure about Deliberate Practice? Here’s a short YouTube video explaining its origin and theory. You can check out more from one of its creators here, including a guide on how to structure your deliberate practice.

Annie also discussed a growth mindset and the courage to learn. She has found these resources helpful for her own growth and learning – ACT based resources and a YouTube video on the Growth Mindset – Annie says, “I feel is just as relevant to professional lifelong learners as it is to school students”

Specific trainings:
Annie recommends The Dulwich Centre for Narrative Practise training. A small number of scholarships are available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander practitioners.
The Bouverie Centre has great courses on single session thinking and attachment based interventions
Tim recommends The Brief Therapy Institute for trainings.
